The relegation battle in the Bundesliga will probably only be decided on the very last day of the game. Right in the middle is the current table 16. VfB Stuttgart, who accordingly have to plan the coming season on two tracks.
Many personnel decisions are therefore still pending, and there is a lot of work waiting for the new sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth.
According to a recent media report, it already seems certain that it will be difficult, especially for the six VfB professionals currently on loan, to gain a foothold in the country – regardless of league affiliation.
Among others, the professionals Mo Sankoh (Vitesse Arnheim), Roberto Massimo (Academico Viseu), Momo Cissé (Wisla Kraków), Clinton Mola (Blackburn Rovers) and Mateo Klimovicz (Atletico San Luis) are currently on loan.
All five loan players also fell short of expectations at their current clubs. According to a “kicker” report, VfB Stuttgart no longer sees great potential in them, so the quintet is likely to be sold or loaned out again in the summer.
VfB youngster Faghir scores four times for a loan club
According to the media report, the only player who can hope for a second chance with the Swabians after decent performances in recent weeks is Wahid Faghir.
The offensive man already has a long-term contract with VfB until 2026. Since last summer he has been loaned out to the Danish first division club FC Nordsjaelland, where things initially also ran very bumpy.
Since the spring, however, the 19-year-old has played more and more into the team and thus taken the development step he had hoped for. Overall, Faghir scored four times in 14 competitive games.
Although Nordsjaelland was recently satisfied with the striker’s performance, the purchase option of four million euros is said to be too high.
Irrespective of VfB Stuttgart’s league, Wahid Faghir could start the summer with his second attempt in the country.
