Kayla Itsines has criticized the owners of a new Gold Coast gym after her less than stellar inaugural visit.
On her Instagram Story on Tuesday, the fitness mogul, 33, recounted her trip to the new gym, which she did not name in the post.
Kayla revealed that the experience left her flat, which she said was characterized by a lack of energy from the staff and a lack of “atmosphere” in the gym.
‘If you are a gym owner, this is for you. More specifically, public gym owners,” Kayla began her lengthy post.
‘Today I decided to try a new gym closer to my house. It’s practically new, so I thought it was “amazing”.
However, Kayla’s amazement was quickly shattered as she approached the gym counter.

‘I walked in and waited in an empty reception; Finally someone came out. The staff member working was the most carefree human being in the world with no energy whatsoever.’
Seemingly unconcerned by his arrival, Kayla added that the staff member proceeded to offer minimal service to the businessman.
“I asked for an informal visit and she handed me a piece of paper with a QR code on it and said, ‘Yes, just log in,'” Kayla wrote.
“He didn’t even tell me where the bathrooms were, he just left and left me alone to go in and figure it out.”
Kayla’s training experience only went downhill from there as she entered the gym, which she said offered a distinct lack of “vibe.”
“Then the gym,” he continued.
‘Beautiful, new, clean but without vibrations. The music was so low I could hear the people next to me breathing.’
He then offered some sage advice for public gym owners.

“If I can give any advice to gym owners, it’s to make their customers feel welcome,” he wrote.
‘The gym is intimidating enough… so whoever you have at reception has to be an absolute legend. They also need to make their customers feel welcome.
‘The gym needs music… LOUD music. Music creates a vibe and eliminates the noise in your customers’ brains. Friendly, fun staff + loud music = great gym.’
It looks like Kayla won’t be returning to the gym after her mediocre experience.
She took to Instagram again on Wednesday to give fans an update on her search for the perfect workout space.
“After my story yesterday, I remembered that ‘convenient’ is not always best,” he wrote.
‘Today I drove an extra 20 minutes and went to my usual gym. Shout out to World Gym in Burleigh Heads.
You may be the most intimidating looking gym I’ve ever been to, but you make sure no one feels left out.

Kayla co-founded her successful fitness app with her ex-fiancé Tobi Pearce, now married to fellow fitness queen Rachel Dillon, who remains a passive investor and sits just below Kayla on the Young Rich list at age 35.
The Sweat app, formerly known as Bikini Body Guide, charges its members a hefty subscription fee in exchange for fitness and meal plans, as well as shopping lists and exercise tips from Kayla herself.
Kayla and Tobi sold the company in 2021 in a $400 million deal to US software giant iFIT, but later bought it back for a fraction of the price.
According to Influencer Marketing Hub, Kayla is also considered one of Australia’s top influencers and can command between $37,700 and $62,900 per sponsored post on her 15.8 million-follower Instagram account.
