Former French President Francois Hollande’s partner, actress Julie Gayet, reportedly sent an angry text message to French First Lady Brigitte Macron to exclude her from a party at the Elysée Palace – and instead invite her love rival.
The claim was filed in Paris Match magazine, which interviewed Hollande and Mrs. Gayet and spoke with their staff for a feature film – the actress asked, however, not to be quoted directly in the play.
Whether the story came directly from Gayet or someone close to her is unclear, but the magazine reports that the actress, 47, was furious when Mrs. Macron, 66, did not invite her for a lunch for former First Ladies at the Elysée Palace in 2019 – and even sent her an angry message to complain.
To add salt to the wound, lunch was attended by none other than Valerie Trierweiler, the former Hollande partner whom he publicly cheated with Gayet in 2014.
The magazine also reported that Mrs. Gayet referred to Emmanuel Macron as “the traitor” for threatening to reduce public funding for the French-American foundation of her partner.

Although Mrs. Gayet shunned a public role as First Lady, she lived in the Elysée Palace with Hollande until he was expelled in 2017 by Emmanuel Macron.
However, Mrs. Macron chose not to invite her for lunch with former French First Ladies in the palace.
Guests included Carla Bruni, the wife of Nicolas Sarkozy, who was head of state from 2007 to 2012, and Valerie Trierweiler, who went out with Francois Hollande from 2007 until his infidelity was revealed in 2014.
Mrs. Gayet had been silent at the time, but her absence on the occasion raised eyebrows at journalists and political viewers who had wondered why she was not on the guest list.

But behind closed doors, not someone to withdraw from a fight, Gayet apparently addressed the humiliating stump in a text message to the host himself.
The position also revealed that Mrs. Gayet was not present at the funeral of former President Jacques Chirac in Paris last year because she “could not bear to see the Macrons.”
The gloomy event, which took place on September 29, was attended by President Macron and former President Nicolas Sarkozy, as well as numerous French politicians and foreign heads of state such as Bill Clinton. Francois Hollande was only present at the funeral in Les Invalides in the French capital.
The magazine also reported that Mrs. Gayet referred to Emmnauel Macron as “the traitor.” It said: “She can’t stand the way she does [the Macrons] changed sides and thought about reducing public funding for the foundation of Hollande, nor the fact that they are getting closer to the Sarkozy couple. ”
Earlier this week, two Le Monde journalists revealed that the former head of state Nicolas Sarkozy might have been the one who had told the press about Hollande’s visits to Gayet while still officially dating Valerie Trierweiler.
Fabrice Lhomme and Gérard Davet made the claim during a radio program on Europa I on Tuesday, French tabloid reported Voici.
Two French journalists have revealed that the former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has tipped them about the affair between the then President François Hollande and actress Julie Gayet in 2013. The two men claimed that they had been tipped about the infidelity of Hollande by none other than Nicolas Sarkozy, who had called them to his offices because during his re-election campaign in 2012, he was annoyed by their investigation into allegations of financial irregularities.
Mid-rant, he reportedly told them to “look into Hollande’s affairs,” and added that the president regularly visited a “good friend,” despite having a long-standing relationship with author Valerie Treierweiler.
Although the two men did not follow themselves, three months later the news hit the French gossip magazines, with photos of Hollande riding a scooter to Mrs. Gayet’s Parisian apartment, a scandal that nobody has yet forgotten.
When the scandal struck, François Hollande had a relationship with author and journalist Valerie Trierweiler for five years. The couple is pictured at the Ground Zero 9/11 Memorial on January 10, 2014 (the day the news about the affair broke out in France)
“We’re going to Nicolas Sarkozy in his offices, we’re told for half an hour – it’s always pretty violent,” Gérard Davet recalled.
“Then he says:” You must look at Francois Hollande. Rumor has it that he is riding a scooter out of the Elysee to see his good friend. Very often, “and bam, three months later it is closer.”
They added that there was a lot of hostility among the rivals, with Hollande pulling Sarkozy in the 2012 elections, making him the first incumbent president to lose since 1981.
