Rise of Dior’s royally glamorous new muse! Model Alessandra de Osma who was 14 when she first met Prince Christian of Hanover, 17, has quietly become a fashion powerhouse

With a guaranteed front-row seat at fashion week, a handsome prince for a husband and a modeling career on her resume, Alessandra de Osma is undoubtedly one of Europe’s most glamorous royals, although you may not have heard of her.

Last week it was announced that the 35-year-old mother of three is a new Dior haute couture ambassador for Spain, adding another chapter to her real-life fairytale trajectory, which began when she crossed paths with royalty as a teenager.

Alessandra, then 14, served as a tour guide for 17-year-old Prince Christian of Hanover, stepson of Princess Caroline of Monaco, while he vacationed in his native Peru.

After six years of long-distance friendship, romance blossomed in 2011 when Alessandra moved to Madrid, where Prince Christian was studying business administration.

The lovebirds announced their engagement in 2017 and tied the knot the same year at a modest registry office in Chelsea, London, before celebrating their union the following year with a lavish three-day event in Peru, with guests including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. .

Alessandra, 35, and Christian, 38, currently reside in the Spanish capital with their twins Nicolás and Sofía, born in July 2020, and will welcome their third child in March.

Known as ‘Sassa’ to her friends, Alessandra has an impressive CV, with law degrees and a master’s degree in fashion and business management.

She signed with Ford Models in New York City at the age of 16 and subsequently modeled for a host of well-known brands, including Bottega Veneta, Missoni, and Pepsi.

Adding another achievement to her portfolio, the princess now proudly wears the title of Dior Haute Couture Ambassador.

Posting on Instagram last week, Alessandra wrote: ‘I am very happy to share that I am Dior’s new haute couture ambassador for Spain. Thank you Karen and the rest of the team for thinking of me!’

She shared three images of herself modeling the resort’s collection, while praising the brand for taking inspiration from Mexico and collaborating with its local artisans.

Alessandra, 35, born in Peru, has been married to Prince Cristián of Hannover, 38, youngest son of Ernst August von Hannover and his first wife Chantal Hochuli, since 2017.

The couple legally married in November 2017 in a modest registry office service in Chelsea, London, before celebrating their union the following March with a lavish three-day event in Peru.

Christian, second in line to the former throne of Hanover, is also a descendant of Queen Victoria through her daughter, Empress Frederick.

The star-studded Catholic ceremony, held at Peru’s St. Peter’s Basilica, was attended by Kate Moss, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Princess Mary Olympia of Greece and Denmark. among others.

The bride surprised with an ivory lace dress by the Spanish couturier Jorge Vázquéz, with a high collar and an extravagant train, while the groom opted for an elegant morning suit.

Alessandra had the honor of wearing the Hanoverian floral tiara, previously worn by Princess Caroline at her 1999 nuptials and Ernst August Jr’s wife, Ekaterina Malysheva, on their wedding day.

The extravagant celebrations continued with lunch at the National Club – where the great and good of Peruvian society gathered for centuries – and cocktails at Casa Berckemeyer, an art gallery.

Christian, whose mother is Swiss socialite Chantal Hochuli, met Alessandra in 2005, when the 14-year-old acted as his tour guide during a visit to Peru.

The teenagers stayed in touch as friends, but only became romantically involved in 2011, when Alessandra moved to Madrid. They were in a relationship for six years before announcing their engagement in 2017.

The 35-year-old was born in San Borja, Lima, Peru, daughter of Felipe Juan Luis de Osma Berckemeyer, Executive and Central Commercial Manager of Hermes Transportes Blindados, and Elizabeth María Foy Vásquez, former model.

Christian and Alessandra tend to keep a low profile and stay out of the spotlight.
