Ooh La La! Fred Sirieix, the charming maitre d’ on Channel 4 show First Dates, has demonstrated his love for his homeland while on holiday in the West Indies.
In online pictures from Jamaica, the Frenchman, 52, posed in a pair of suitcases emblazoned with the tricolor flag.
He said he faced a dilemma over whether to wear them or a pair with the Jamaican flag. “Which one would you wear?” he asked his fans.
Fred added in his caption: ‘To the sound of Serge Gainsbourg & the Revolutionaries with Aux Armes et Caetera. The French National Anthem in #Reggae #Dub. Yes man!
‘#sandalsresort #sandalsnegril #adgifted @sandals_uk #jamaica #negril #sunshine #travel.’

It comes after Fred revealed he plans to tie the knot with his fiancée Fruitcake in 2024 in Jamaica.
Fred’s turn comes after Fred and his previous I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! costar Josie Gibson reunited last week on This Morning – after being involved in a feud during their stint on the ITV show.
Fred became embroiled in a “sexism” row after viewers accused him of displaying “misogynistic” behavior towards Josie, 38, in the jungle last year.
But when Fred joined Josie on This Morning for a cookery episode, it seemed all the bad blood had been vented, with the chef saying it had been blown “out of proportion.”
Fred was a guest on the show to demonstrate one of his family’s favorite recipes, fried chicken and sweet corn soup.
At the start of the topic, host Craig Doyle referred to the couple in the jungle by saying: ‘There were more sparks between these two than the (jungle) fire itself!’
Josie laughed and said, ‘No bean fritters in sight today!’ while a laughing Fred added: ‘It’s not my favorite recipe!’
Craig then addressed Fred and Josie’s feud by asking: ‘Can I just ask, are you guys okay?’

Josie replied: ‘We love each other. It was really blown out of proportion wasn’t it Fred?’ while Fred admitted, ‘It has, it has, it has!’
Josie reached for a hug and said, ‘Bring it in.’
After the embrace, the pair spoke about their time in the Australian jungle, with Josie saying: ‘We’ve been through something pretty spectacular together, it’s been a journey hasn’t it?’
Fred then admitted: ‘I think people can’t understand what it’s like to be in the jungle unless you’re in the jungle and the reason it’s called ‘I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! ‘ is because you really want to get out of there!’
Josie – looking at the dish – said, ‘Well, I wish we had this in there! Good soup, good wine and good company – thank you very much.’
During their time on I’m A Celebrity last year, tensions had started between the pair after Fred had to give up his role as camp cook, with many noting that he acted ‘controlling’ towards Josie when she took over the job.
However, Fred defended his actions in his exit interview, claiming that the reason behind their fallout was that Josie consistently made a culinary mistake.
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec during his exit interview, he said: ‘She’s just making it up as she goes along. So I think there is a lot at stake with the food.
‘And it’s not just what you’re doing at the moment, which of course will be good, because the products are incredible, it’s what you can do the next day with the remains of the bones.’
He continued: ‘You really need the calories and you have to find them when you can. I think we missed a few quiet meals (by not recycling ingredients),’ he added.
Viewers had seen less mannerisms and more ‘misogyny’ in Fred in recent episodes after his behavior towards his female co-stars left fans branding him ‘intolerable’.
When asked why he didn’t interfere so much in Sam Thompson and Nick Pickard’s cooking, he said they were a ‘dream’ and there was ‘no need’ for him to do so.
As his split with Josie grew, Fred was seen cozying up to Nigel Farage, 59, on the show, despite once calling him a ‘coward who likes money, attention and the sound of his own voice too much much’.
Both tasked with washing pots in the camp, the former UKIP leader and the Frenchman clashed over the cleanliness of the camp and complained about Josie’s meals as they scrubbed the pans at the water’s edge.
When asked about his up-and-down relationship with Nigel at the camp, Fred insisted that their time together had not affected him in terms of their political differences.
He said: ‘It was great in the camp because I’m a do-er and Nigel is a do-er… but there’s a side of Nigel Farage that I don’t want to and never will associate myself with.’
Fred, who is also a trained chef, had relentlessly criticized single mum Josie’s cooking skills and during Monday night’s episode he told hosts Ant and Dec at trial: ‘There’s no method, there’s no technique.
‘She just makes it up as she goes along. If she just let me take her through it step-by-step clearly, we’d be fine.’
Viewers were quick to hit back at Fred, writing on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘Fred Sirieix is controlling and misogynistic. He may be a trained chef, but that doesn’t mean he has to make everyone feel less than.’
Josie has been praised online for her calm response, saying: ‘You’ve just got to give me the reins my love, I know it’s hard.’
Others online told him to ‘back off’ Josie, with one person writing: ‘How Josie hasn’t ripped Fred’s head off I don’t know. How conceited and condescending. Get him out!’
As well as his clash with Josie, YouTuber Nella Rose, 26, and Fred had an argument three days into the show, in which she accused the Maitre’d of ‘little girling’ her.
However, the hint of an unequal dynamic was overlooked because viewers took Fred’s side.
Since then, public opinion of Fred has changed following his ‘sexist’ behavior towards Josie and Nella when assigned the camp work.
At first, Nella and Josie were given the task of washing up the pots after Fred had cooked the campmates rice and beans.
But the camp descended into chaos when the furious First Dates star threw the already-washed pots on the ground, complaining they were ‘unclean’ and sending the pair back.

This sparked a misogynistic rant, with viewers on X writing: ‘No, Fred annoys me now, ‘You didn’t do a good enough job’… how sexist.’
Another person wrote: ‘I’m so disappointed by this. I don’t like Fred Sirieix now.’
Confiding to the Bush Telegraph on Friday, Nella said: ‘If someone has cleaned something, you don’t pick it up and throw it on the floor.’
Josie added: ‘I like Fred but it’s not very nice to be told what you’ve done isn’t good enough and I’m thorough.’
