Their relationship was discovered when Brooks sent him a Valentine's Day card.

During their investigation, prison management discovered Mrs. Brooks' cell phone number, written on a sheet of paper in Zreika's cell.

Brooks is said to have opened a mailbox account in her name, but according to the news website, Zreika sent her letters to the & # 39; covers alias & # 39; from Belinda Taylor.

It was claimed that the couple had been involved in normal telephone conversations, while letters from the prison officer to the prisoner were also found.

The offense is the most recent case in a wave of illegal relationships in Australian prisons, following an investigation conducted by officials working alongside the Corrective Services Investigation Unit.

Amy Mershell Connors, a married mother of two, was charged in August 2018 for alleged sex with a detained police killer.

The 34-year-old worked as an officer at Kempsey Correctional Center in northeastern NSW, where she reportedly had a 12-month sexual relationship with Sione Penisini.
