Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas is set to become a cult hero at Albert Park this weekend after going the extra mile to pay homage to Australian culture.
Already a fan favorite on local shores due to his mustache and mullet, the 34-year-old – who won the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in 2019 – showed his cheeky side by prompting Carshare to Uber.
Wearing a turquoise jumpsuitBottas can be seen showing off his “second car” – a Holden ute – which features storage for flip-flops, a built-in pie oven next to the driver’s seat and a smuggler parakeet drying system attached to the bull bar .
The clip, posted online only on March 20, is already approaching five million views.
Bottas’ latest hilarious nod to Australia concerns the racing helmet he will wear during Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix.

Bottas has also been in a relationship with Australian cyclist Tiffany Cromwell since February 2020.
He has had a difficult start to the year, finishing 19th and 17th in the first two races of the F1 season in Bahrain and then in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.
He also recently said he would like to eventually race the Bathurst 1000.
“It looks like a lot of fun,” Bottas said News Corp.
“I’ve never been to the track…I’ve only seen a few music videos and stuff, but it looks awesome.
“I love the Australian lifestyle…the good weather, good food and (the fact that) people don’t take themselves too seriously.”
