THQ Nordic has announced the Alone in the Dark showcase event, which will be held next Friday this week.
The event will be broadcast openly via YouTube channels and other broadcast platforms on Friday, May 26th at 3:00 am Mecca time.
The developer confirmed by announcing the event that most questions about the game will be answered with an in-depth review of the game system and the game world.
Alone in the Dark was announced many years later by the publisher THQ NordicWhere it is being developed by the Pieces Interactive studio, which promised to return to the roots of the series, but with the view and ambitions of the new generation, and you can watch a new video of the game that reviews the gameplay longer than the recently released premiere.
The third-person, single-player horror game has been in development for five years at THQ’s Pieces Interactive studio, with Mikael Hedberg of Amnesia and SOMA directing, while the game and monster designs are written by Guy Davis.
As previously stated by THQ, the new game is a love letter to the original series that offers a mix of classic third-person horror games with quirky and interesting characters, a dark and intense atmosphere and exciting gameplay.
As per the official game description, you will take on the role of Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood, explore different environments, engage in bloody encounters with monsters, solve puzzles and discover the shocking truth about Derceto Mansion in the deep south of the United States during the 1920s. Emily Hartwood’s uncle disappeared. Accompanied by private detective Edward Carnby, you go looking for him at Mansion Derceto, a mental asylum where something lurks.
The story of Alone in the Dark will offer a completely original experience, yet incorporate characters, settings, and themes from the ’90s trilogy. No prior knowledge of the original titles is required to enjoy the new game, but fans of the series will find a lot familiar.
Alone in the Dark is a reboot of the original series, mainly developed for the new generation PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
