Fern Britton congratulates Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on their This Morning gig as she features as a guest 15 years after quitting the ITV show

Fern Britton congratulated Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on their This Morning gig when she appeared as a guest on the ITV show, 15 years after she last presented it.

The TV presenter, 66, was a full-time presenter of This Morning from 1999, alongside John Leslie and later Philip Schofield, before stepping down in 2009, when she was replaced by Holly Willoughby.

She recently competed on Celebrity Big Brother alongside the likes of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and winner David Potts, which attracted her back to This Morning as a guest.

During her guest appearance on Wednesday, Fern wished new hosts Ben, whom she once introduced, and Cat well, while offering them both a kiss on the cheek.

“It’s been 15 years since I was last on (this) show,” Fern recalled. “And well done you two.”

Ben thanked her for her kind words and Fern even invited the duo to her home in Cornwall.

Speaking about her time in the CBB house, Fern talked about the incident where she fell and hit her head.

“The doctor came out and said, ‘It’s blunt force trauma, so you’re going to feel a little weird,'” Fern began, before trailing off when she noticed Ben’s face.

Fern, showing that she understands the introduction game, said, “It looks like you’re finishing up, so I’ll tell you real quick.”

Amused by Fern’s insight, Ben replied, “You know those eyes,” to which she warmly responded, “I do.”

Regarding her blow to the head, Fern continued: “The doctor also said that since I had to take a shower because I had to get ready because it was the night of the eviction, to have someone in the bathroom with me in case I had a problem.” . .

‘And who came in with me? David! He sat on the couch while I showered and said, “Are you okay Ferny?” He is the most adorable man.’

Fern admitted she won’t remember her time on CBB and addressed the rumored feud between her and Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin.

While in the house, Nikita nominated Fern for eviction several times, prompting the perpetrator to address him about it.

The pair clashed in tense scenes during the final week of the show, and Fern admitted she was offended when Nikita tried to compliment her fashion sense.

She was later sent flying into the sofa during a chaotic shopping task set up by Big Brother in which she had to be checked out by a doctor.

Addressing the tension on This Morning on Wednesday, Fern said: “Nikita is lovely, absolutely handsome, he is gorgeous.

‘Something happened there, we didn’t understand each other and I accidentally said… I don’t even know exactly what I said, but he thought it was something to attack him. He really he wasn’t.’

Nikita was upset with himself for becoming “too competitive” during the game, and when Big Brother assured them that Fern was fine and asked them to continue playing, he didn’t like it.

Ben went on to say that “everyone feels elated” in these lockdown situations, to which Fern replied: “It was difficult.

“I think he had already nominated me and told me it was because I went to bed early, that I wouldn’t do his gym sessions. I had to think of something to nominate.

He also admitted that he won’t be watching the show again, saying, “I’m not going to watch it again for a long time, at least.” I don’t want to be embarrassed or delve into anything… I just don’t want to.’
