After releasing her devilishly addictive single Fire With Fire, the indie artist FEMME is following it up with another band certified in the form of “Angel”.
FEMME performed for her audience at The Perception launch party at W London in Leicester Square on Tuesday evening 7 November.
She performed new songs “Fire with Fire”, “Dig Deep”, the newly released single “Angel” and classic songs from her album “Debutante” “SOS” and “Double Trouble”.

Continuing its move into club territory, “Angel” delivers an irresistible blend of tropical house flavors and the kind of catchy hooks FEMME is known for.
Bounce shifting vocals against an infectious, soaring beat, “Angel” is made to sound just as impressive on a portable radio as it does through a fully stocked racket sound system.

“I like my pop music to be a little weird,” says FEMME. “I like a challenge, pushing the envelope a little bit — not just repeating what has gone before.” She’s not fond of repeating herself either.
While FEMME still writes, produces, and performs all of its music, the new material marks a departure from last year’s Dubutante album, featuring smoother beats and tighter, more stable arrangements.
“My production is so intertwined with my writing process, I wouldn’t be able to do it without that driver’s seat,” she explains. “It’s just that I’m flexing my muscles in a different direction.”
Actress Samantha Parks was far from her 19th-century self on Tuesday, making an absolutely glamorous look at the launch of The Perception at W London.

FEMME first gained acclaim as the frontwoman of Ultraísta, the electronic supergroup that includes Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and drummer Joey Worker Beck.
Her first single was listed as FEMME on BBC 6 Music and caught the ears of Charli XCX, who offered Bettinson a support slot on her Fantastic North American tour.
Eschewing the overtures of major labels to maintain her freedom as an artist, FEMME then turned to manager, choreographer, and even on the road for a series of singles, videos, and tours, culminating in the 2016 release of her debut album.
