An 83-year-old British tourist has died after being hit by a bus on the resort island of Lanzarote.

The unnamed woman was rushed to hospital in a “critical” condition after being hit by the vehicle in the popular tourist town of Costa Teguise and was stabilized at the scene.

Authorities confirmed today that he had died at the José Molina Orosa Hospital in the island’s capital, Arrecife.

The dead woman has not been identified. Police confirmed that she was an 83-year-old British citizen.
