“I want to make it clear to all of my employees and the American people that this type of behavior and action will not be tolerated at FEMA and we will hold individuals accountable if they violate these standards of conduct,” Criswell posted on X, announcing Washington’s decision. dismissal from the agency.
“I will continue to do everything I can to make sure this never happens again,” he added.
According to the Daily Wire, the employees who followed Washington’s orders were part of a Department of Homeland Security team that was made up of volunteers from other agencies.
One of the workers said: ‘I thought we could help and make a difference. When we got there they told us to discriminate against people.
“It’s almost unbelievable to think that anyone in the federal government would think that’s OK.”
The person added that it was wrong to discriminate against Trump supporters when they were “the most vulnerable.”
They added: ‘I volunteered to help disaster victims, not to discriminate against them. It didn’t matter if people were black, white, Hispanic, for Trump or for Harris. “Everyone deserves the same amount of help.”

Milton had devastated the Sunshine State in early October, just two weeks after the misery caused by Hurricane Helene.
More than 30 people died after the storm wreaked havoc on communities, leaving homes ruined and causing an estimated $50 billion in damage across the state.
An employee under Washington’s supervision later filed a complaint about the guidance with the federal Department of Homeland Security, which oversees FEMA.
Now, Representative Anna Paulina Luna demands answers.
He wrote a letter to the agency on Friday, asking Criswell for answers about what he knew about Washington’s instructions, what actions FEMA had taken and when he first became aware of the directives.
Additionally, Luna asks the agency what actions it has taken to ensure that homes that were left out receive the necessary help.
He demanded that Criswell respond by November 25.
“My district was one of the hardest hit by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and it has been sickening to hear that more than half of my constituents were discriminated against for their political beliefs,” Luna he told The Daily Wire on Saturday.
The lack of response left residents left to fend for themselves without any federal help.
He went on to claim that “big government bureaucrats look down on ordinary Americans because they don’t find them politically convenient.”
“I will demand answers from FEMA Administrator Criswell, and Congress must fully investigate this matter,” Luna said. “Gone are the days of putting Americans and the United States last.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also announced that he ordered a state investigation into Washington’s edict.
“The blatant weaponization of government by partisan activists in the federal bureaucracy is yet another reason the Biden-Harris administration is in its final days,” the governor said.
‘At my direction, the Division of Emergency Management is launching an investigation into the federal government’s selective discrimination against Floridians who support Donald Trump.
“New leadership is on the way in DC, and I am optimistic that these partisan bureaucrats will be fired.”
