FC Twente will visit Sparta Rotterdam on Friday evening and Paul van der Kraan realizes what interests are at stake. The general manager is therefore looking forward to the last league match of 2022.
“A competition with a special touch”, he writes in his weekly newsletter. “Father Maurice Steijn is head coach of Sparta and son Sem plays with us. After confrontations between father and son Kruys at FC Utrecht and De Graafschap and between father and son Oosting at RKC Waalwijk and Willem II, this is a new father-son confrontation in the Eredivisie,” notes Van der Kraan.
“Hopefully, just like Kruys and Oosting at the time, Steijn will also be effective tonight,” he continues. “The players have now left the division of points against Go Ahead Eagles behind them and want to flame again before the winter break. It is a major achievement if we also have the connection with the top teams after this weekend. That is a huge motivation towards 2023” , said Van der Kraan.
“In preparation for the second half of the season, FC Twente will play a practice match in and against Almere on Saturday 3 December,” he reveals. “The start time of the game with the club from the Eerste Divisie follows. Earlier it was announced that FC Twente will practice against Sparta Rotterdam on Saturday 10 December in De Grolsch Veste. This game starts at 5 p.m. Prior to the game, there is a winter market around the stadium,” concludes the driver.
