R&B singer R. Kelly leaves the Leighton Criminal Courts Building after a hearing on June 26 in Chicago. He is now charged with new federal charges

Federal prosecutors investigating singer R Kelly have reportedly discovered more than 20 videos of him having sex with minors.

Robert Sylvester Kelly, 52, was charged earlier this week for 18 federal charges, including producing child pornography and raping a minor on camera.

The 20 bands were handed to investigators by members of Kelly & # 39; s inner circle, and depict him involved in sexual acts with multiple children, Gerald Griggs, a lawyer for the family of alleged victim Joycelyn Savage, told TMZ.

The controversial singer was indicted on Wednesday by a federal grand jury in New York and on Thursday agents from the New York Police Department along with Homeland Security agents detained him outside of his Trump Tower apartment complex in Chicago.

Because they come from the federal government, the allegations add a new dimension to the allegations against Kelly, who was confronted earlier this year with charges of sexual abuse filed by the prosecutors in Illinois.

In a federal indictment in Chicago, Kelly said a girl and her parents would travel overseas to prevent them from talking to the police prior to his 2002 indictment of 21 child pornography issues.

The R&B artist would later have told them to lie to a large jury about the matter. Kelly was acquitted in 2008 of the allegations that accused him of recording a video of sexual acts with the girl who was 12 or 13 when they met in the mid-1990s.

A separate indictment filed in the eastern district of New York includes allegations of extortion, abduction, forced labor, and sexual exploitation of a child.

It says that Kelly and his managers, bodyguards and other assistants have chosen women and girls at concerts and other locations and have arranged that they are traveling to see Kelly. They also set rules that women and girls should follow, including not leaving their rooms – even to eat or go to the bathroom – without Kelly & # 39; s permission, the singer & # 39; Daddy & # 39; claiming not to look at other men, the indictment claims.

The allegations have been wrestling for years around Kelly, who was encouraged by federal prosecutors on Friday by his fame and the lack of real consequences & # 39 ;. The indictment comes after two documentaries and a series of news articles about the allegations, as well as pleas from prosecutors who have urged new victims and witnesses.

Kelly was arrested Thursday night while walking his dog & # 39; Believe & # 39; in Chicago. He appeared in court on Friday and stood before the judge in an orange overall, his hands clasped behind his back. The only words he spoke during the 15-minute hearing were & # 39; yes, ma'am & # 39 ;.

He will remain in federal custody at least until Tuesday when he is scheduled for a detention session. Prosecutors want him to be detained without bail.

His lawyer, Steve Greenberg, said the latest allegations & # 39; no surprise & # 39; and that Kelly should be allowed to place a bail.

"It is the worst kept secret that he would be charged federally, and he did not flee," he said after Friday's hearing.

He also accused the federal government of & # 39; piling up & # 39; with the new charges and described his client as unstoppable despite a series of charges in recent months.

& # 39; I'm surprised he didn't get in full trouble due to all this pressure, & # 39; he said. He wondered if the victims referred to in the charges were actually victims.

& # 39; They accused him of seductive people in New York and encouraged people to have sex with him & # 39 ;, said Greenberg. & # 39; I don't think people have sex by accident, so I don't know exactly what the criminal activity is. & # 39;

The indictment from New York claims that the crimes have taken place over two decades and date back to 1999, both in the US and abroad. It accuses Kelly of performing sexual acts with girls under the age of 18 to have sex with a woman without revealing that he had a sexually transmitted disease and to produce child pornography.

In the indictment against Chicago, Kelly is charged with child crimes, including the production of child pornography and conspiracy to deceive the US government. It calls Kelly & # 39; s company manager, Derrel McDavid, and another employee.

It says that Kelly himself made recordings of sex acts with various underage girls and made every effort to restore the videos when he realized that some were missing in his & # 39; collection & # 39 ;. Kelly is said to have killed a number of victims and witnesses have conducted lie detector tests to ensure that they have returned all copies of the videos.

Kelly & # 39; s acquittal in his previous child pornography trial after he and the girl prosecutors said in the video denied that they were in the footage, although the image quality was good and witnesses testified that it was them. She did not stand in the stands.

The indictment is that Kelly continued to make payments to the girl after the trial and that in 2013 Kelly also transferred the title on a luxury SUV to the girl.

Darrell Johnson, a Kelly publicist, made a statement at a chaotic Friday press conference in Atlanta, where he was interrupted seconds after the start by the family of a woman who lived with Kelly in Chicago. The Joycelyn Savage family argued to talk to their daughter.

& # 39; I want to know where my daughter is, & # 39; Timothy Savage, Joycelyn Savage's father, interrupted Johnson. & # 39; Where is she? Answer that question! & # 39;

Johnson said he had nothing to do with Joycelyn Savage and that she was not being held. In an interview with & # 39; CBS This Morning & # 39 ;, co-host of Gayle King in March, Joycelyn Savage defended her relationship with Kelly and denied reports that she was being held against her will.

Kelly was arrested on 10 points in Illinois in February to sexually abuse three girls and a woman. He did not plead guilty to those accusations and was released on bail.

On May 30, the Cook County prosecutors added another 11 sex-related counts to one of the women who accused him of sexually abusing her when she was a minor.

Lawyer Gloria Allred, who represents three of the victims who appear in the New York indictment as "& # 39; Jane Does" identified, predicted that & # 39; just-in-time & # 39; will be done soon.

& # 39; This is a very positive day for those who claim to be Mr. Kelly, and I am sure Mr. Kelly hoped it would never come, "she said.

Kelly is being held in federal custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago.
