The FBI raided the homes of two top aides to New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Officers raided the homes of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks at 5 a.m. Wednesday. The city information.
The raids took place simultaneously at Wright’s home in Hamilton Heights and at Banks’ property in Hollis.
The motive for the raids remains unclear, but both officials reportedly had their electronic devices confiscated.

Wright is the most senior aide to Adams who has been targeted in a raid at her home. The exact reason for the raid has not been made public, but it is believed to be related to an investigation into Adams’ 2021 election campaign.
This comes after the FBI seized Mayor Adams’ cellphone and laptop and raided the home of his campaign treasurer, Brianna Suggs, last November amid an investigation into his 2021 campaign.
The searches were part of an investigation by the U.S. attorney in Manhattan into whether Adams’ campaign had conspired to obtain illegal foreign donations through a bribery scheme involving the Turkish government.
In February, the two Bronx homes of Adams’ top confidant, Winnie Greco, were also raided as part of an investigation by the Brooklyn U.S. attorney.
Adams has continually denied any wrongdoing.
