Fauci says he’s wearing a mask as a ‘SYMBOL about what people should do’ as Trump refuses to wear one
Anthony Fauci explained on Wednesday morning why he wears a mask – to set an example for others about what to do to stop the spread or contracting of the coronavirus.
“I wear it when I’m outside,” said Dr. Fauci CNN in an interview Wednesday when Jim Sciutto urged him as he and other masked officials encouraged others to do so.
“I want it to become a symbol for people to see that you should do that,” said Fauci, who is part of the White House coronavirus task force.
The national infectious disease expert and a director in that specialty of the National Institute of Health often appears next to the president for information about the pandemic.
Recently, Fauci even wore a mask while performing at the White House – especially after it was announced that he would go into ‘modified quarantine’ after potential exposure to the virus.
Trump has still not been seen in public with a mask, although he claims to have worn them ‘behind the scenes’.

The comments are because Trump has still not been photographed in public with a mask on – and the President has made it clear that he thinks it wouldn’t look good if he wore a face cover

First lady Melania Trump was pictured on Monday wearing a face cover aboard Marine One, but once she got out of the helicopter, she no longer wore the mask.
The first lady has advocated that people wear masks in public when they are unable to maintain social distance recommendations – but she has yet to be seen publicly.
Marine One has crammed scorched, making a two-meter social distance impossible.
She was able to glimpse wearing a white mask – matching her white coat – through the window of the presidential helicopter that left the White House’s South Lawn on its way to Baltimore on Monday.
“I wear it because I think it’s effective,” Fauci claimed. “It’s not 100% effective, I mean, it’s a kind of respect for someone else and let that person respect you.”
“You wear a mask, they wear a mask. You protect each other, “said the doctor.
Fauci is increasingly outdated in the workgroup because he seldom speaks to the media anymore during briefings – remaining largely in the background – and has greatly decreased in the size of his TV interview appearances.
Trump has been criticized for allegedly violating his own health experts’ recommendations, including not wearing a mask in public.
On a tour of an Arizona mask factory earlier this month, Trump did not wear face wear, but claimed before the tour that he was wearing a mask, but the cameras missed it.
While the Trumps weren’t wearing masks on their Memorial Day trip to Fort McHenry and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, supposed Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his wife Jill wore the facials when they laid a wreath at the Delaware Memorial Bridge Veterans Memorial Park Monday.
