An Australian radio duo have revealed that Fatman Scoop made a disturbing prediction about his own death in one of his final interviews in Melbourne last year.

The American rapper died aged 53 after collapsing on stage at Hamden Town Centre Park, Connecticut, on Friday and was rushed to hospital.

Now, Mix94.5 FM’s Pete & Kymba show has published one of the advertising man’s final interviews, during which he said he wanted to “die by my own sword.”

Radio duo Pete Curulli and Kymba Cahill unearthed the 2023 interview in which Fatman promoted the annual R&B event Fridayz Live.

During the candid chat, he revealed he was on a quest to live a healthier lifestyle as he lost weight and enjoyed cycling along Perth’s West Coast Highway.

As the trio discussed their plans to go biking together, Pete said, “Mr. Scoop, I have a suggestion for you. I just found a tandem bike, a three-person bike.”

“Do you want the three of us to go on bike rides?” asked Fatman, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, to which Pete eagerly agreed.

However, Fatman seemed to have some concerns, saying: “If the three of us are riding and one of us makes a mistake, we’re all going down.”

He then made a chilling statement: “If I’m going to jump into the void, if I’m going to die, I want to die under my own sword. I don’t want to die under your sword, sir.”

This comes after another Australian radio duo, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, revealed Fatman’s final words before he tragically collapsed on stage.

Discussing the tragedy on Monday morning’s Kyle and Jackie O show, the radio hosts played a short clip of what would be Fatman’s final performance.

The American rapper could be heard breathlessly encouraging the excited crowd with: ‘I said Hamden make some noise!’

He then shouted, “If you came to the party,” before pausing for a long time to catch his breath.

“Make some noise,” he continued before collapsing on the stage.

Screams were heard at his final show as the legendary entertainer was seen struggling after climbing onto a platform before disappearing from view.

Doctors rushed to revive him, but Fatman’s tour manager finally announced his passing on Saturday, saying he was “speechless.”

Freeman’s manager, DJ and producer Birch Michael, announced the rapper’s death “with the heaviest heart” in social media posts.

Shortly afterward, the artist’s family said in a statement that he “was not only a world-class artist: he was a father, brother, uncle and friend.”

“Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life,” the family said.

“He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage.”

He was known for his deep, growling vocal presence and was described by his family as “the undisputed voice of the club”.

The three-time Grammy Award winner has recently ventured into podcasting and reality TV, including appearing on Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother: UK vs USA in 2015.

The exact cause of the artist’s death is unclear, however, it came after he suffered a medical emergency on stage.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene around 8:33 p.m. and wheeled the rapper out of the scene on a stretcher as he was rushed to the hospital.
