A father of six was killed by a hit-and-run driver while celebrating his upcoming birthday and his fifth anniversary with his wife.

Dustin Dorcz, who had children between the ages of 6 and 18, was traveling with his wife Lindsey Dorcz from their hometown of Lufkin when he was struck by a car on the shoulder of eastbound I-10.

The horrific accident occurred during the early morning hours of September 15, and Lindsey was not with him at the time.

Lindsey said a witness told her “my husband was very close to the guardrail, away from the road.”

Houston police are still searching for the driver who killed Dustin, 35, adding that there is no official suspect or vehicle description. Khou 11 reported.

Lindsey tearfully appealed to the driver to admit what he did and come to justice.

“If that person is watching this, maybe God can work on them and they can give my husband the justice he deserves and confess what has happened,” she said. “I’ve been on cloud nine for the past eight days without my husband.”
