Father of R Kelly victim of rape continued to work for his singer after his assault

A recently exposed rape tape reportedly showing R. Kelly sexually assaulting a minor girl has the same victim as the 2001 video of the singer that resulted in child pornography, the girl's aunt said.

Sparkle, a former protégé of R Kelly, who was the prosecutor's testimony during the prosecutor's previous criminal proceedings, said in an interview with The New York Times that after seeing photos of the video, it was a & # 39; different recording of the same people & # 39; is.

She also elaborated on how the original sex strip had torn her family apart, a subject she first mentioned in the Lifetime documentary Surviving R Kelly and again in January during an interview with Madame Noire.

That break was repaired briefly a few years after the trial, during which time the parents of the alleged victim had expressed their support for the singer who was accused of having very clearly raped their minor daughter, Sparkle said.

The Times reports that the friction between the Edwards family started to decrease after the trial of Kelly was over and the brothers and sisters started talking again in 2011. However, Kelly was never discussed.

Sparkle said she filmed Surviving R Kelly completely secret, never mentioning her participation for fear of the consequences it could have for her sick mother.

It was only a few days after her mother succeeded that the first trailer of the series premiered, upon which her sister – the mother of the alleged victim – ordered Sparkle to leave her family alone.

Her family is just one of the things she has lost in her quest to crush the accused rapist and pedophile.

Sparkle also ran away from a successful career with Kelly shortly after her debut album was released in 1998, which subsequently became Gold.

& # 39; He was really trying to check, and I saw it now, & # 39; Sparkle said.

She distanced herself from Kelly after being released from her contract, but first introduced the singer to her niece and brother-in-law, who would continue to perform in the singer band for more than a decade.

In her interview with MadameNoire, Sparkle tried to figure out why her family members were with the man.

& # 39; It is still a mystery for today, and I would think if: & # 39; Okay does he have something with them, does he threaten them, have they signed a confidentiality agreement where they can't talk? & # 39; & # 39; said Sparkle in that interview with her sister and her family.

& # 39; As it is what I really want to know, because there is no way not to protect my daughter. & # 39;

Later she told about the sacrifices she made to do the right thing.

& # 39; I have taken hits. I took my career. I recorded my career for this, you know. I have taken many hits for this & # 39 ;, said Sparkle, who, in addition to raising her voice, raised money for organizations that help abused women by donating the proceeds from her most recent EP.

And despite her family who cut her off – except for one brother who stayed with her on this side – Sparkle said she won't stop her fight until Kelly is behind bars.

& # 39; They wanted to keep me quiet, and you know before I leave & & # 39 ;, said Sparkle, who then revealed that it was Toni Braxton who came to her aid in her moment of need.

& # 39; My big sister, mentor Toni Braxton and the Braxtons, they held me. The Braxtons were certainly there as a sisterhood because I don't have any sisters right now, & said Sparkle, who performed in Vegas with the song Unbreakable My Heart.

& # 39; Toni told me to come out and show her with her on the comic for three years, and loved it because they were the only ones with my back. & # 39;

Then, in 2011, her parents' 50th birthday brought Sparkle and the family back together until the documentary.

& # 39; It was my parents' 50th anniversary and we gave them a big kick for their 50th and it brought us back together on a large scale and from 2011 until the end of the trailer we were rocking & # 39 ;, Sparkle said.

& # 39; I lost my mother in October and yes after we let her rest, two days later the trailer fell out and then we were back where we were. & # 39;

She now hopes that more women will continue to come forward and help her in the battle to destroy Kelly and save girls as her niece.

& # 39; But I am not heard from anyone you know, the Braxtons of course, but no one else has really stretched out and said: & # 39; you are going girl & # 39;, & # 39; Sparkle said.

& # 39; But God has me, I am on his side, & # 39; she said.

& # 39; He's the ultimate, so yes, that's what I stand for. & # 39;
