A four-year-old girl and her father were found dead at the bottom of a cliff after a “walking fall” in Canada, amid a bitter custody with the child’s mother.

Keira Kagan and Robin Brown were found Sunday around 11 p.m. in the snow-filled Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario.

Halton regional police said they didn’t consider homicide killing “at this point,” but the investigation is still ongoing.

Philip Viater, the girl’s stepfather, says he and his wife Jennifer Kagan believe that Brown has jumped off the cliff into a suicide.

Keira Kagan, four, with her mother Jennifer Kagan and stepfather Philip Viater. Viater has said they believe Robin Brown, the girl’s father, killed her in a suicide. He added, “We have been traumatized by this man for three years.”

“We’re not doing well,” Viater said CTV news. “We go through a cycle of phases between sadness, confusion, anger, helplessness.”

The husband added, “We have been traumatized by this man for three years.”

The disappearance of Brown and Keira had triggered a massive search on Sunday and they are believed to have entered the snowy park eight hours before they were found.

Halton police said the injuries were consistent with a fall.

Viater said the walking story didn’t seem plausible. “Keira never walked to the best of her knowledge in her life.” He told CTV. ‘If you take Keira for Halloween, she will travel 20 times in the street. She always asks us to wear her. “

Kagan had filed a motion by the end of last month calling for an urgent suspension of Brown’s access to the child, only to allow him access under supervision.

The father had custody of Keira on alternating weekends, including the fatal outing of Sunday.
