A 6-year-old boy and his father were tragically found dead in Michigan after failing to return home as expected, authorities said. The Isabella County Sheriff’s Office began searching for the boy after he was reported missing Monday in the Mt. Pleasant area.
According to the report, he was last seen with his father. The boy’s mother had contacted the sheriff’s office earlier that day, expressing concern that her son had not been returned to her custody as planned. M live reported.
Officers initially responded to the father’s residence but found no one home. Over the next 24 hours, police made several attempts to locate both the boy and his father, but their whereabouts remained unknown. Eventually, they made contact with the father’s brother, who had also been unable to reach him. The situation took a tragic turn when a family member decided to break a window of a trailer located at the back of the father’s property. Preliminary results of the investigation suggest that the father committed suicide after killing his son.
