Botany Bay tragedy: Boatie is killed and another man injured after their boat hits a whale and overturns
One man died and another injured after their boat hit a whale and overturned.
Water police rushed to the scene at Cape Banks in La Perouse, southeast of Sydney, around 6am following reports two men were in the water.
“A man was pulled from the water unconscious,” police said in a statement.
“Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced deceased.
“A second man was recovered and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.”
The Foreshore Road boat ramp in Botany remains closed as investigations continue.
