Fatal Bronx driver caught on camera ramming homeless woman: prosecutors

Bronx Driver Police say she fatally struck a homeless woman last summer and was caught on camera getting into her car, ramming her victim and then speeding off without stopping, prosecutors said Friday.

Motorist Dean Moflehi, 35, had just gotten into his 2021 Lexus LX 570 on July 1 when he struck Jessica Brown as she was crossing near East Tremont Ave. and Boston Road in West Farms.

Detectives investigating the fatal hit-and-run found surveillance footage showing Moflehi getting into his car a minute before he struck 26-year-old Brown.

First responders called to the scene found Brown lying in the street with serious injuries to her entire body.

She was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital, but was unable to save her.

After a thorough investigation, police located and arrested Moflehi on Thursday, more than eight months after the accident, and charged Moflehi with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and failing to report the accident.

Moflehi lives in Clason Point, about three miles from where the accident occurred.

A Bronx criminal court judge ordered Moflehi held on $35,000 bond during a brief arraignment Thursday night. He is expected to return to court on March 23.
