Some people said the allegations were not true, while others swore they were true and that they had proof.

‘By the way, when I was working with corpses I always thought: “Who here is wearing Lost Cherry?” and then this happened,’ said one commenter.

“It’s just that death smells like one of the compounds in the perfume, not the embalming fluid itself,” another commenter argued.

“Everyone asks why I don’t wear cherries; they won’t catch me until I’m dead smelling like cherries,” read one popular comment.

“It smells faintly like that, yes, but the perfume has a richer aroma than embalming fluid,” one commenter clarified.

“To me, it smells like those cherry lip balms from the early 2000s that smelled like cherry but like… in a sinister way… in a waxy, incredibly artificial way… and I love it for that, but I don’t have $395,” said another TikTok user. .

‘Lost Cherry was my wedding perfume and it’s the scent I get the most compliments on lol. “So I guess a lot of us like the smell of embalming fluid,” one commenter quickly responded.

A New York-based makeup artist with the username Ohuprettythings, who had previously done makeup on a dead body, decided instagram to clear up the rumors.

She wrote: ‘Corpses (that are embalmed) have a sickly sweet smell… If you smell the synthetic notes of Lost Cherry, it can be quite sweet if you ignore all the other layers.

‘Now I think Lost Cherry really smells like a corpse?’ No, but like I said… I see how she drew the parallels.’

In redditsome users clarified beauty lovers’ confusion, with one writing: “Anyway, no one except people who use that specific embalming fluid would know what it smelled like.”
