Australian fashion designer Carla Zampatti passed away on Saturday.
Carla, who was 78, died after falling down the stairs while attending the opening night of the La Traviata opera in Sydney Harbor last week.
She was reportedly knocked unconscious after falling on the bottom steps of the stairs and then rushed to hospital.
According to the Daily Telegraph, she fell into a coma and never woke up.
Carla’s death was confirmed on Saturday via a statement posted to her official Instagram account.
“Today it is with great sadness that we announce the death of fashion icon Carla Zampatti AC,” they wrote.
“Carla is Australia’s most successful and sustainable fashion designer, launching her eponymous label in 1965,” it continued.
