A former producer of Channel Seven’s hit reality series Farmer Wants A Wife fears the show “won’t survive” for much longer.
The source criticized this year’s season of the dating show after fans suggested the series is ‘tending’ to be more like Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight when several farmers failed to find love.
“Farmer Wants a Wife was very popular because it was less dramatic and I know for a fact that we used to focus more on finding these farmers a real wife,” the former producer said. Yahoo Lifestyle.
“I think the show should have stayed in its lane and avoided casting women who are there for the wrong reasons. Other shows are already doing that internal struggle and conflict thing.
‘We hope this time they opt for genuine love stories. Because I’m afraid the show won’t survive another series like the last one.
A former producer of Channel Seven’s hit reality series Farmer Wants A Wife has claimed the show “won’t survive” for much longer.
Last month, disgruntled FWAW fans criticized the show for its drastic changes, claiming it is becoming “more like MAFS.”
“I think the new producer is trying to make the show like MAFS,” wrote one Facebook user.
‘They can edit it however they want and make both men and women look like something they are not. All the kissing etc. this year and the sexual innuendos are more like MAFS than in previous seasons.
‘This has really ruined the show. I, for one, won’t continue watching it next year if it starts like this. In the past, men and women were more natural, and that was the good thing about the program.”

It also comes after Samantha brutally replaced host Natalie Gruzlewski on the show.
Natalie, 47, led the dating show for its first eight seasons from 2007 to 2012, and returned in 2020, becoming a firm fan favourite.
However, she was replaced by former Sunrise star Samantha, 47, as main presenter last year and Natalie appeared in a “reduced” role on the show.
Samantha first joined the dating show as a “guest host,” but her minor role was later expanded as Natalie “reduced” her duties.
She took over hosting duties for FWAW in 2023, replacing Natalie, who was still appearing on the show but in a diminished role.
Natalie hosted her own segment called Nat’s Getaway during the 2023 season, with Sam ‘front and center’ as the face of the franchise.
In the comments section of posts shared on the show’s official Instagram, viewers argued that the series isn’t “the same” without Natalie at the helm.
‘Bring Nat back…’, wrote one while another added: ‘Natalie will be back? She’s so good.’
“Loved this show with Nat as the host,” said a third, while another wrote: “Nat was a GOAT, bring her back please!”
“Devastated it’s not @nataliegruzlewski it’s not the same show anymore,” one said.
