Far-left students shout “pro-life” after a kidnapping at the University of Virginia

Date:

Liberal students hijacked a pro-life event at the University of Virginia where protesters shouted “pro-life” and violently threw “punches”, injuring one.

Christine Hawkins was speaking at Virginia Commonwealth University about her Lies Pro-Choicers Believe tour when liberal students and members of Antifa — a far-left group — hijacked the event and began hurling insults at her and her co-speaker, Isabel Brown.

“We came to VCU, a public university, to talk about abortion, and we got assaulted,” Hawkins wrote on Twitter. “Virginia Commonwealth University should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this and shutting down any freedom of thought or speech at your university.”

Videos from Wednesday’s event show protesters shouting “f**k pro-life,” “get out the fascist nazis,” and “go nazis home” as the two women stand on podiums ready to speak.

In a video released by Students for Life, the organization that held the event at the school, Hawkins is shown approaching school security in the hallway as they stood next to protesters continuing to scream.

In the end, the students are seen piling in one place as one of them yells, ‘They’re assaulting her! They assault her!

Brown alleged that “punches” were thrown and the Student for Life chapter president, Autumn Higashi, was injured. DailyMail.com has reached out to Higashi for comment.

Two of the ladies’ private security as well as the local police rushed in, hurling the protesters across the room before one of them shouted, “Hey! Listen! Calm down! Everyone get out of here! ”

The students replied again: “You leave first!”

In response, school staff removed Hawkins, Brown, and other pro-life from the room while the students continued to scream.

“VCU campus police are shutting down our peaceful assembly because of these fascists,” Hawkins said in the video. So they’re going to let these little kids, these fascists, get their way.

Brown revealed on her Twitter page that she “took them into a locked room for about two hours for our ‘safety’ while violent protesters marched free (and) stood in line for Chick-fil-A (ironic).

We took questions from pro-life and pro-choice students both in the midst of madness and in the closed room, stimulating dialogue that clearly doesn’t happen in Richmond. Until each student has had the opportunity to broaden his or her views, our work on campus is unfinished.

“Why the violent protesters were not removed, but there were two pro-life women, still baffles me.”

In a live broadcast Wednesday night, Brown claimed she lost her “Antifa virginity tonight” and was shocked by the “violent” protests she witnessed on campus.

“I never expected Richmond, Virginia, to be the epicenter of all the madness and violent protest until tonight,” she said on the live broadcast.

She said when she and Hawkins arrived on campus, they noticed a lot of “outspoken lefties” who were wearing masks, all black, and those with “a lot of gender confusion”.

Hawkins and Brown were informed before they began their speech that demonstrators were filling the auditorium, but they welcomed opposition. Brown claimed that they offered the protesters an opportunity to ask their questions first, but the protesters adamantly refused the opportunity.

Natalie Hoskins III, 22, and Anthony Marvin, 30 – who are not related to the school – were arrested in the event, according to Fox News. Hoskin was charged with assault, while Marvin was given a disorderly conduct number.

Students for Life identified some of the protesters as antifa based on their banners and clothing, and the group’s head of strategic communications, Kristi Hamrick, directed Fox News to floating Internet posts directing students to a “counter-demonstration.”

The post was shared by Christopher Goad, who has ties to Antifa, according to Fox News. However, Jawad denied promoting the event, but said he was covering it as a “local journalist”.

I wasn’t promoting an event or protest, but instead reporting it as being accurate to my abilities. Jawad told Fox News that it was Students for Life Security who assaulted protesters who took part in a First Amendment speech at a public event.

Students for Life has asked the school to allow women back on campus to give their speeches, but it is unclear if the university will allow this.
