The Block is being rocked by claims that contestants have already walked off the job two weeks after filming began.

Filming of the Channel Nine show, which is taking place on Phillip Island, has been disrupted by a couple leaving the series. Yahoo Lifestyle reports.

‘A couple have left. “They definitely weren’t kicked off the show, it was of their own free will,” a supposed source told the publication this week.

The source claimed that the drama will “unfold” on the show and there is no word on whether the pair have been recast.

If the contestants did indeed quit, it will be the second time the series has been rocked by a premature exit.

Influencer Elle Ferguson and her boyfriend, former AFL player Joel Patfull, left The Block days after filming for the 2022 season began.

The beloved renewal series will triumphantly return to television screens later this year, marking two decades since its initial premiere.

Nine has confirmed that just five teams will compete to convert five properties into the former Island Cove Villas on Phillip Island.

WhatsNew2Day Australia can reveal that a company owned by Channel Nine has purchased Island Cove Villas for a whopping $9.5 million.

Located two and a half hours from Melbourne, thThe site currently has nine houses, a community pool, barbecue pavilion, tennis court and children’s playground.

It comes after the genius tactic employed by 2023 winner Steph and Gian Ottavio (pictured) threatened to derail the 2024 season of the Channel Nine series as future contestants may attempt to follow in their footsteps.

Speaking to WhatsNew2Day Australia on Monday, Steph and Gian revealed their foolproof strategy for winning the makeover show.

“When we got the call that we were on The Block in February, the first thing we did, I think three days later, we called Tom Panos, our auctioneer,” they said.

They continued: “He was the first person we called and hired, and people probably wouldn’t think that.”

The tactic paid off tenfold: the Sydney couple took home The Block crown when they sold their Hampton East home for $5 million.

The Western Sydney housemates made a staggering $1.6 million profit when they sold their Gisborne home during the Block’s 18th season in 2022.
