Welcome to the second week of the fantasy football season! It was a very exciting start to the year, with plenty of surprises and disappointments across the board. No position may have been more surprising than quarterback. Beyond Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (a surefire top-three spot for the week thanks to his ridiculous on-field skills), there weren’t many fantasy finishes that even the best analysts couldn’t have seen coming.
Let us consider the following oddities:
Baker Mayfield finished as the QB1 in standard Yahoo leagues, throwing for 289 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Commanders. He started in just 6% of leagues.
Derek Carr started in just 1% of leagues against the Panthers defense, throwing for an efficient 200 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold outscored newly-paid $60 million player Dak Prescott by more than five fantasy points.
Will the oddities continue in Week 2? Can the running backs continue to provide energy? Yahoo Fantasy analysts are here to help you decipher it all with their fantasy football rankings at each position for Week 2.
Good luck with your Week 2 matchups!
