Johnny Depp showed off his yellowed teeth at the British premiere of his period drama Jeanne Du Barry in London on Monday.

He once joked about the terrible state of his teeth at the height of his Hollywood fame in the 1990s.

Now significantly older, Johnny Depp clearly didn’t notice on Monday night when he revealed a set of yellowing teeth that only Captain Jack Sparrow could be proud of.

The American star, 60, was evidently in high spirits as she greeted fans at the Curzon Mayfair during the UK premiere of her French-language film Jeanne Du Barry, almost a year after it appeared in competition at the Festival of Cannes Film Festival.

But when he smiled, Johnny’s nicotine-stained teeth were on display, after fans criticized him for his poor dental hygiene while promoting the film at Cannes last May.

Johnny bragged about the terrible state of his teeth in a 1995 Premiere magazine interview that resurfaced last year, admitting that he had “tons of cavities.”

The comments were discovered by Page six following Johnny’s appearance at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, leading fans to troll him for his ‘rotten’ squeakers.

In the Premiere article, Johnny stated: ‘I have a lot of cavities. I had a root canal eight years ago and it is unfinished. It’s like a little rotten piece.

He insisted: ‘But I like it. It’s like when the Indians made something with beads, they always put imperfections in it.’

Johnny, who at the time of the interview was 31, pointed to his uneven bottom teeth and said, “I’m proud of these.”

The Edward Scissorhands star added: ‘When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me crazy. I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!’

His interviewer marveled that he managed not to have bad breath, despite his dental condition and the cigarettes and wine he had just consumed.

Fans said he looked like Captain Jack Sparrow as he flashed his ‘rotten’ smile as he launched his comeback at Cannes 2023.

The actor received a seven-minute standing ovation at the premiere of his film Jeanne du Barry after his successful court trial ordered his ex-wife Amber Heard to pay him £6.4 million in damages.

But fans couldn’t help but notice the actor’s smile and how his golden teeth showed visible signs of deterioration as he posed for photographers on the red carpet.

Johnny recently signed a £16 million cologne deal with Dior, thanks to his striking looks and charm.

But unlike many Hollywood stars, the actor has avoided spending thousands of dollars on pearly white veneers or expensive composite adhesives.

Johnny is known for transforming his smile depending on the roles he plays. For Pirates of the Caribbean he had an extensive layer of gold on his teeth.

He kept the gold caps until filming closed on the third installment of the franchise.

Johnny has also been open about his battle with substance abuse, telling the court during the libel trial that he had tried “every type of drug known to man” when he was 14.

Drug use can erode tooth enamel and expose underlying dentin to cavity-causing bacteria.

For the premiere of Jeanne Du Barry, Johnny showed affection for his co-star Maiwenn.

The actor, who has been trying to make a comeback with his first film in four years, wore a long gray coat with a black suit underneath for the premiere.

While affectionately hugging Maiwenn, Johnny showed a very serious expression in many of the snaps, adopting an equally serious posture.
