Irwin fans were stunned by a revelation in a resurfaced home video of the world-famous family.
The video, recently shared by Instagram account The Female Quotient, showed the moment five-year-old Bindi Irwin met her newborn brother, Robert, for the first time in 2003.
In the footage, Bindi was introduced to the latest member of the family by her late father Steve, only for the eldest sister to give her newborn brother a completely different name than the one chosen by Steve and their mother, Terri.
“Because of the way he is, I think I’ll call him Brian,” Bindi announced in the video.
“His name is Robert,” Steve told his daughter.
Unfazed, Bindi said, “But I’ll call him Brian for short,” before Steve finally relented and replied, “Okay.”
“How do you know it’s a boy?” Bindi asked Steve at another point in the adorable video.
‘Have you checked it?’

“They’re not born with clothes on, Bindi,” Steve patiently explained to his daughter in the clip.
Fans are now demanding Bindi comment on whether the family is still using Robert’s alternate name behind closed doors.
“Can someone ask Robert Irwin if his sister still calls him Brian?” one fan commented on the video shared on Instagram.
“Bindi brings chaos. Well, I’ll call him Brian,” another added.
“Her job was to name the animals at the zoo,” one longtime follower explained in the comments. “So she assumed it was her brother’s turn to name them. He’s SO ADORABLE.”

Today, 20-year-old conservationist Robert Irwin is one of Australia’s most sought-after media talents.
The beloved TikTok star made quite an impression on fans when he took over as co-host of Channel Ten’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia alongside long-time presenter Julia Morris, 56.
She earned a Gold Logie nomination for her first mainstream television work and is currently also presenting and fronting a Queensland tourism campaign.
Fans were stunned and amused by the revelation.
Steve “The Crocodile Hunter” Irwin died aged 44 off the coast of Queensland on 4 September 2006, after a stingray pierced his chest while he was filming a nature documentary.
Bindi was six years old when she tragically passed away, while Robert was three months shy of his third birthday.
It was Steve’s father Bob, 85, who built the iconic Queensland zoo from scratch in 1970 and passed it on to his late son and his wife Terri in 1992.
During his lifetime, Steve promoted wildlife conservation with his own hit television show, The Crocodile Hunter.
His family has continued his legacy with their own wildlife reality show, Crikey! It’s the Irwins, which debuted in 2018 and can still be seen on the Animal Planet network.
The fan reaction came after Robert, 20, shared a throwback to Instagram of him and his sister Bindi at Southbank in Brisbane 10 years ago. They both appear in the photo.
