Ed first appeared while Niecy Nash-Betts’ character, Detective Lois Tryon, was getting some fresh air and lighting a cigarette.

Kelce’s character appeared to be a nurse at the hospital where Lois’s husband was in a coma. After finding her sitting on a bench, Ed began sweet-talking the detective before she pulled out a flask and began drinking. He warned her not to get into his car, but she proceeded to drive after drinking.

In the next scene, Lois crashes her car into a pole and wakes up in the hospital with Ed as a nurse. She convinces him to escape from the hospital against his doctor’s orders, and he agrees.

The two held hands as they ran through the hospital hallways in slow motion, climbed into Ed’s red convertible, and sped off to finish episode 3.
