Social media users were disgusted by a video of Carolina Panthers rookie Xavier Legette hunting, skinning and cooking a squirrel.

On Friday, a video of the wide receiver went viral showing a partially skinned squirrel in his hand saying, “We took the squirrel out of the tree and opened it up.” Take off his clothes.

The video then shows a clip of the animal cut up and placed on top of a grill.

As more than 2.9 million users watched the 20-second video, fans took to the comments section to express their reactions, mostly nausea.

‘This is vile and barbaric. That’s why I’m also vegan,” wrote one user.

‘That? “He should be suspended,” another suggested.

A third user wrote that Legette “should be arrested for animal abuse.”

“Someone let him know he can hire a private chef and never have to do this again,” shouted a fourth.

While many disagreed with Legette’s hunting ways, others insisted there was no harm in what he did.

“All I know is that when shit hits the fan and I have to look for food to survive, I wish I was with this guy,” one fan responded.

‘He hunts and fends for himself. He doesn’t hit women or have 27 moms. Calm down,” another chimed in, referring to Tyreek Hill.

His love of strange meats is no surprise, as Legette previously brought a container of raccoon meat to the Panthers locker room to share with his teammates and media members, at least those brave enough to try.

Over Thanksgiving, Legette appeared on the St. Brown Podcast with Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown and offered his best food shots.

“I don’t eat bell peppers and all those extra things like that… Those things are too exotic,” Legette told reporters Thursday. ‘The (raccoon) is so-so for me. I’ve been eating that since I came out.

The Panthers selected the South Carolina native with the 32nd pick in 2024. Legette concluded his first NFL season with 49 receptions for 497 yards and four touchdowns.
