Fans mock the terrible attempt by new Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite for skills during the unveiling
“Is he Cryuff’s second coming?” Fans mock the new dreadful attempt by Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite for skills, as controversial signing is revealed for an EMPTY Nou camp
Things soon became sour during the unveiling of Barcelona by Martin Braithwaite, after the former Middlesbrough attacker struggled when asked to perform a series of tricks for the waiting cameras.
It has been a busy week for the Denmark-international, who completed a controversial emergency transfer from Leganes after Barca activated his release condition of £ 16 million with permission from La Liga.
As is customary when Barca reveals their latest acquisition, the player is asked to blind the ball on command and to excite excitement around the movement. Braithwaite’s failure to do this soon resulted in spot online.

Martin Braithwaite had a hard time when the spotlight was on during his unveiling in Barcelona
After being asked to produce a series of tricks for the cameras, the striker lost control
Twice Braithwaite tried to shoot the ball up, but failed well in his efforts
Images found their way to social media and showed the 28-year-old who tried to roll the ball alternately between both feet before attempting to make a ‘rainbow flick’ and break it into the air.
After two separate attempts, both of which failed, Braithwaite just kept dribbling the ball back and forth on the ground.
Fans did not stop after seeing the images, with many people wasting no time cracking the jokes.
“What the hell is this !?” wrote one observer, while another took a more sympathetic note and added, “Can’t help but feel sorry for the man.”
Another fan tried to make a comical comparison with Barca great Johan Cruijff ever, asking: “Will Braithwaite Cruijff’s second coming?”
The misery of Braithwaite reflected that of the current Barca player Ousmane Dembele, who also struggled to perform tricks on the spot during his unveiling ceremony.
Braithwaite was brought in as a direct consequence of the injury to Dembele, after the French youth was declared excluded for at least five months.
Barca’s failure to sign an attacker from the first team during the January transfer window forced them into the emergency movement.
The transfer has attracted great attention, after the Leganes relegation has been stripped of their star and is unable to bring their own replacement.
