Fans have praised Mason Greenwood after the striker starred in Getafe’s draw against Villarreal on Friday.
José Bordalás’ team won an early free kick on the edge of the Villarreal area, and Greenwood stepped up to take it with his weaker right foot.
The Manchester United loanee’s cross forced a careless headed clearance from Yerson Mosquera and Getafe midfielder Nemanja Maksimovic took advantage of the opportunity to put them ahead.
The move comes just weeks after Greenwood once again showed his weaker foot by scoring a penalty against Real Betis.
Later in the match, the 22-year-old would embark on a dazzling run after receiving the ball deep, passing several players along the byline before unleashing a low cross into the box.

However, even though his team failed to get the three points at El Madrigal, Greenwood’s performance earned significant praise from fans on social media.

The one-cap England international is expected to leave United permanently this summer, with Atletico Madrid reported to be among several teams interested in signing him.
Greenwood had previously been charged with attempted rape, assault and coercive behavior in January 2022 after a series of harrowing images and voice recordings were shared online.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges in February 2023 following the withdrawal of key witnesses.
