A new Netflix show has been hailed as ‘truly brilliant’ by fans who are now obsessed with the streaming platform’s latest hit.
The Signal is a limited series about an astronaut who disappears from the International Space Station.
The German show premiered in the top 10 Netflix TV shows in the US on March 7 and stars Florian David Fitz.
Other cast members include Peri Baumeister, Hadi Khanjanpour and Yuna Bennett.

While Fitz appears in all four episodes of the series, he was also the show’s scriptwriter.
He portrays Sven, a man ‘navigating life as a single parent’ after his astronaut wife Paula (Baumeister) goes missing during a mission.
He is focused on protecting their daughter Charlie (Bennett) while trying to get answers to his wife’s disappearance, which left ‘a common thread’ that Sven follows.
“But the more he pulls it, the more his life collapses, the greater the mystery and the threat to him and Charlie and ultimately to the whole world,” says The Signal’s production house.

Others who weren’t keen on the show didn’t hold back.
‘Turned down the Netflix signal. You lost me when you started putting Trump down,’ one X user tweeted.

Viewers on Rotten Tomatoes didn’t get behind the show that others did.
The show currently has a 39 percent audience rating on the review website.
A few critics have praised the show, with a writer from Decider suggesting that his audience stream the series.
“The Signal does a good job of splitting its story into two storylines that are well-defined, bringing the viewer into the show’s central mystery in a way that keeps them interested without jostling them around,” he wrote.
A writer on Insert magazine didn’t share the same joy and wasn’t happy about the growing plot lines.
“Early on, it builds intriguing mysteries and dispenses secrets past and present that have massive consequences,” the reviewer wrote.
“However, the series ultimately doesn’t pay off these discoveries out of this world.”
