Fans go wild when Orlando Bloom calls his fiancée Katy Perry by her REAL NAME live on stage

Orlando Bloom sent fans into a frenzy on Wednesday when he called his fiancée Katy Perry by her real name during his emotional introductory speech.

The 39-year-old singer was honored with the MTV Video Vanguard Award for her “outstanding contributions and profound impact” on music videos at the MTV Video Music Awards.

As she took to the stage to accept her award, Orlando, 47, paid tribute to her with an emotional speech, however, to the surprise of fans, he casually revealed his real name.

He told the audience: “You fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson. You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor to every song she writes and every music video she creates.”

“I know her as a mother, as a partner, who brings that same love and joy to our family. In times when we have needed it most, her music and the extraordinary world she creates have brought a sense of joy and laughter, inspiring generations of people around the world.”

“She loves with all her heart and it’s something irresistible. I see it reflected everywhere; in our home, in her love for her work, but especially in her love for her fans. Congrats on this honor, babe, I’m so proud of you. 1-4-3. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2024 MTV Video Vanguard: Katheryn Hudson, Katy Perry.”

Fans then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their surprise at the casual name being mentioned.

One viewer wrote: ‘KATY PERRY IS NOT HER REAL NAME HOW?’; ‘So today I’m years old when I found out that Katy Perry’s real name is not Katy Perry… Is Taylor the only artist who uses her real name?’

“Why did I think Katy Perry’s real name was Katy Perry?”; “Did I just find out Katy Perry’s real last name is Hudson?”. My middle name is Hudson because my grandmother’s maiden name was Hudson… Does this mean I might be discreetly related to Katy Perry?”

After accepting their award, the loving couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they kissed on stage.

Katy recently made headlines for making naughty comments about her sex life with Orlando and couldn’t resist making another risqué joke that night.

Previously, she boasted about performing a sexual act on him as a playful way to reward him for completing household chores in a risqué interview.

During her acceptance speech, she once again thanked him for “doing the dishes” while referencing his bold take on their relationship.

Making another risqué comment about her sex life, she said: “Thanks to Orlando for keeping me grounded, celebrated and doing the dishes.”

The comments referenced her viral comments about thanking him for doing chores during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast this month.

Earlier in the evening, she put on a racy display with Orlando as she arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards, days after he was photographed ogling Kim Kardashian’s bum at a gala.

The couple sweetly held hands as they made faces for each other on the red carpet.

Orlando, who shares four-year-old daughter Daisy with Katy, looked at her adoringly as they held hands on the red carpet.

Katy looked absolutely incredible in a ripped white Who Decides War look that showed off her toned abs.

The sexy look was completed with a frayed top that accentuated her cleavage and a matching skirt.

She rocked a wet hair look as her jet black locks cascaded into ultra-shiny curls.

The makeup consisted of a dramatic shade of smoky eyeshadow, pink blush, and a matte lip.

In another daring twist, she accessorized with a metallic bracelet and a QR code engraved on the lower back.

Meanwhile, Orlando let his partner steal the show by sporting a look that ensured Katy would remain the center of attention.

The Lord of the Rings star wore an elegant black suit paired with a long-sleeved blouse.

The appearance came days after he appeared to sneak a peek at Kim Kardashian’s backside while attending the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner with Katy Perry.

The actor, who looked particularly dapper in his classic black tie attire, was seen gazing down at Kim’s backside as he stood next to his fiancée with one arm placed at her side.

Katy has since shared her reaction to the viral photo.

During an appearance on the The Elvis Duran ShowShe talked about the picture she and Orlando took with Kim.

“It’s you taking a picture with Kim Kardashian and Orlando is looking at her,” the presenter said, laughing. Katy chimed in: “ours,” and Elvis completed the sentence: “her ass.”

He continued: “I mean, how could you not?” Katy replied: “I approve.”

The singer appeared indifferent to the situation and asked: “Wait, what’s the controversy?”

“There is no controversy,” the presenter replied.

“Oh, great,” he said.

Elvis went on to read an article about the event Katy and Orlando attended, which described footage of them with the actor’s hand “right above Katy’s bottom.”

“She’s been to other places,” he joked, adding: “I hate to tell you. My daughter is four.”

“Katy is a musical powerhouse and a true pop culture icon,” Bruce Gillmer, chief music content officer for Paramount+ and president of music, music talent, programming and events for Paramount, said in a statement, according to AP.

“With his innovative creative vision, he has become a global phenomenon and has conquered the world’s biggest stages,” Gillmer added.

Previous winners of the Video Vanguard Award include David Bowie, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and Pink.

The award comes as Perry prepares to release her upcoming seventh studio album, 143. Her comeback single from the album, “Woman’s World,” failed to chart following its release over the summer.

She was also heavily criticized for collaborating on Woman’s World with Dr. Luke, the music producer accused of sexual assault by Kesha in a lawsuit that was later dismissed. Dr. Luke has consistently denied the allegations.
