It wasn’t that long ago: just a few weeks ago, FC Bayern was still dreaming of a treble. In the meantime, the DFB Cup is gone and the Munich side have also been eliminated from the Champions League. There is disillusionment among the people of Munich. The FCB bosses are the target of criticism from Bayern fans.
The resentment among the fans is growing. Above all, the Bayern bosses Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn feel the frustration. This shows a survey by RTL, in which 1002 people took part.
Accordingly, 66% call for Salihamidzic to be kicked out. And Kahn doesn’t come off well either. 46% said they should leave. A very clear trend!
The frustration and disappointment are not solely due to the bursting of the triple dream. With the surprising dismissal of ex-coach Julian Nagelsmann, those responsible had alienated some fans. Above all, the way in which the expulsion took place pissed off many supporters. Especially since the Bayern bosses had always emphasized that they would stick with Nagelsmann and see working with the young coach as a long-term project.
Clear criticism of the bosses of FC Bayern
For this reason, in the Champions League second leg between FC Bayern and Manchester City, some Munich fans took the current club leadership to heart and showed two unmistakable banners. It read: “Goals may not be missed – not values of the association! Question management policy!”
On another banner, Kahn and Salihamidzic were pilloried by name. “Brazzo + Kahn: Heroes of yesteryear, whistles of today,” it said.
In addition, football expert Jan Aage Fjörtoft for powerful explosives. In a tweet he announced that CEO Oliver Kahn (53) should fly.
Kahn’s Bayern balance sheet does not meet the requirements
Although Kahn stated that at the moment he was not wasting a second “worrying about my contract”. But it is also a fact that his previous record as boss is weak. During his tenure, Bayern have only ever won the championship since 2021, and were eliminated early in both the cup and the Champions League. Not enough for the demands of Munich, who are used to success. In addition, there is the fizzled change of coach from Nagelsmann to Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel (still) enjoys the trust of FCB fans
Because: When Nagelsmann had to go, Bayern were still represented in all competitions and the treble was possible. Instead of three weddings, Bayern are now only dancing at one under Nagelsmann’s successor Thomas Tuchel, and even the German championship is at stake.
Despite only two wins from six games and two missed chances for the title, Tuchel (still) enjoys the confidence of the fans. Only 8% think the new coach should be sacked already.
It will be interesting to see how the fans will react if the championship is lost. By the way: According to the RTL survey, only 34% believe in the eleventh title in a row for the series champion.
