  • Gypsy King shared images of the day he was originally supposed to face Oleksandr Usyk
  • The rescheduled showdown between the two will now take place on May 18 in Saudi Arabia.

Tyson Fury took to social media to remind Oleksandr Usyk of the incredible shape he was in ahead of their undisputed clash.

The long-awaited showdown to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis more than two decades ago was originally scheduled for February 17.

The fight was ultimately postponed last month after Gypsy King suffered a serious cut over his right eye during a bout that required multiple stitches.

However, the 12-round championship fight has been rearranged and will now take place on May 18 in Saudi Arabia.

On the day he was originally scheduled to face the Ukrainian inside the ring, Fury shared a clip of himself preparing for the clash looking lean while performing movement drills and medicine ball strikes.

Commenting on the post, Fury fans praised Gypsy King’s body transformation and insisted Usyk is in for a long night when the pair finally reunite inside the ring in May.

One praised Fury’s trainer who originally posted the clip: “Great job Kristian, chiseled in stone.”

Another wrote: “Best shape he’s ever been in. Can’t wait for him to crush Usyk.”

Another fan added: “This would be the biggest win in boxing history, given the reputation.”

‘When the time is right before the fight date, let’s go all out with strength training and movement work. I love this ^ dynamic, everyone says it looks great/ (props), boost your genetic potential more than ever once camp resumes, even more than before. .’

Another commented: “Boxing masterclass to show all the haters that he’s better than Uysk and that this game has levels.”

Gypsy King’s fight against Oleksandr Usyk will now take place on May 18 after being postponed

Fury and his team took to social media after the postponement was announced to say they were devastated by the work they had done behind the scenes.

Fury previously shared a photo of himself looking lean after announcing that his cut had forced the fight to be postponed.

“I can’t avoid getting injured in sparring,” he wrote. “But what I can say is that Usyk was in trouble. I’m in fantastic shape. I will reschedule as soon as I can. 2024 will be a great year for the GK team.”

Fury weighed in at a career-high 277.75 pounds when he faced Francis Ngannou in October, narrowly edging out the debuting former UFC heavyweight champion by split decision in Riyadh.
