Fans are digging deeper into the controversy (and court fights) between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
Some intrepid Deadpool & Wolverine viewers believe Blake’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, took on Baldoni, 40, in the film.
The film, also starring Hugh Jackman, was filmed at the same time as It Ends With Us and was written by Reynolds.
In the film, Deadpool and Wolverine encounter a ‘variant’ of Deadpool named Nicepool.
Nicepool (who was also played by Ryan) sports a man bun, a hairstyle Justin wore for years.
The character makes a comment about Ladypool, played by Blake, saying, ‘Oh my God, wait until you’ve seen Ladypool. She is beautiful. She just had a baby too and you can’t even know it.’

In response, Nicepool, with a hand on his chest, says, “Okay.” “I identify as a feminist.”
Baldoni has said publicly and frequently that she is a feminist. He gave a TED talk in 2017, titled ‘Why I’m No Longer Trying to Be “Man Enough.”‘
During her speech she said she was “trying to be a feminist, amplifying the voices of women around the world.”
The following year, Baldoni wrote an article for Mameluke about being a ‘feminist father’ to his two children and his wife Emily Baldoni.
Deadpool & Wolverine completed filming in June 2024, five months after Lively and Reynolds attended an “all-hands” meeting with Baldoni to address “repeated sexual harassment and other disturbing behavior,” according to Lively’s lawsuit.
Lively gave birth to her and Reynold’s fourth child, Olin, just months before filming of It Ends With Us began.
In both lawsuits, she alleges that Baldoni “routinely demeaned” her by “finding secondary ways to criticize her body and weight.”

In another scene from Deadpool & Wolverine, supervillain Cassandra Nova (played by Emma Corrin) gets into Deadpool’s mind to access his memories.
She literally shoves her hand into Deadpool’s head as he yells, ‘And where in God’s name is the intimacy coordinator?’
Lively alleges that Baldoni “improvised physical intimacy that had not been rehearsed, choreographed or discussed” with her, “with no intimacy coordinator involved” in her demands.
In Baldoni’s lawsuit against the New York Times, he alleges that Lively “He refused to meet with the intimacy coordinator to plan the film’s sex scenes.”

Reynolds denies this claim and witnesses said TMZ that while Reynolds was “angry and stern”, his behavior cannot be classified as yelling.
Baldoni’s lawsuit against the Times follows Lively’s lawsuit against him for alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and lost wages, although he has denied her allegations.
She initially filed a complaint with the California Department of Civil Rights on December 21, before filing a federal lawsuit against him on December 31.

As a result of the dueling lawsuits, Blake and Ryan will not attend the Golden Globes on Sunday.
