“We found ourselves in an unstable situation where we had to make a choice. Either allow the group to break up again for the same reasons as 16 years ago, or stand up to the abusive and controlling behavior and move on with a new member.
“It was the only way for Sunk to continue on his path to the future and it was not a decision we took lightly. When someone is repeatedly abusive and threatening to people they claims to love and respect, the relationship must end,” they added.
Meanwhile, McDonald posted his own statement on Facebook listing various reasons for leaving the group.

“The last few months have been really hard for me as I wanted to let you know that I got fired from the band via email,” McDonald began.
“Of course, I was very shocked and hurt by this, because I worked very hard to bring the group together. Because they made the negotiations so difficult, concerning the money they owe me during the last tour, I couldn’t express myself.
“Negotiations are still ongoing, but for my well-being and that of my fans, I felt I had to release this information as soon as possible.”
