A former professional netball player and mother of two have revealed how she bought a colonial building on Gumtree and moved it to her vast farm in Kybong, Queensland to renovate – and it saved her more than $ 200,000.
Keirra Massoud, 33, fell in love with her dream house and his large veranda and high ceilings on the online marketplace Gumtree and then moved it 100 km so that she could restore it to its original state.
About two years after the 33-year-old bought the 1930s building, Keirra has created her dream home, complete with beautiful wooden deck, stained glass windows and dozens of individual pieces in it.
& # 39; It's a perfect match for the farm and family & # 39 ;, the former Queensland Firebird netball player and brain behind The Gumtree farm told FEMAIL.
Keirra Massoud and her partner bought a farm in Queensland in 2017 – the only problem was that the house Keirra was in love with (see photo) was more than 140 kilometers away; fortunately it was a removable property on Gumtree

Keirra found the property in Queensland – with its large veranda and colonial atmosphere – on Gumtree, after her father suggested that she look there. She found it on the various part of the website (photo: their building permit for the house)
What are Keirra & # 39; s tips for buying a removable home?
* Be aware of your rights and protection, because you have less than when you buy an ordinary house.
* Be aware that this will not happen overnight; you need planning permission, builders, architects and more and it can take months.
* Do your research and trust the professionals or service providers who specialize in removable homes.
* Remember that it takes a while before your home becomes livable. But don't give up on your dream.
Keirra bought the beautiful farm in March 2017, after a year of searching for her dream house.
She explained that she only started looking at Gumtree because her father suggested that they try to find a removable house for their newly purchased piece of land on the website.
& # 39; I never considered selling someone a house on Gumtree, it was a bit bizarre, & # 39; Keirra said 7 News.
But when she saw it, she said it was & # 39; love at first sight & # 39; was – and since then she has not looked back:
& # 39; It took several times to find the right search term & # 39 ;, she told Daily Mail Australia earlier.
& # 39; I recall that the person who came with the goods, & # 39; Queensland House for Removal & # 39; and that it fell under the Miscellaneous category.
& # 39; And then I saw it. From the moment I did that, I was obsessed. I kept thinking about the building. & # 39;
Keirra said she had never considered looking at Gumtree and found the idea of buying a house there & # 39; bizarre & # 39; (photo: the interior of the Gumtree farm)
The house is not the only item that the Gumtree family has purchased. They have also found a large closet that they have in their living room for $ 1500 (left), as well as countless other items (right)
What are the Gumtree statistics?
* Australian adults sell an average of 11 items per year, despite the fact that they can only sell 23 items.
* The most popular items are furniture (35 percent), tools, gardening and do-it-yourself (25 percent) and general electrical appliances, including telephones and PC's (43 percent).
* Four in ten Australians (39 percent) are now concerned about the environmental impact of buying new products.
After securing the property in September 2017, Keirra and her partner traveled 140 km to see the house and worked to move it from northern Brisbane to their rural farm.
But before the day moved, the pair had to jump & # 39; through hoops & # 39; to get approval from the municipality to move the house to where they wanted it.
They finally secured removal to their farm on Valentine's Day 2018 and have since spent the last year and a half turning the property into their dream home.
The total price of the house, including relocation and renovation, cost Keirra and her family a little less than half of what it would have cost to build a similar house on the site.
It is not only Keirra's house that the economical mum of two bought at Gumtree, but much of what it also houses.
Keirra said that when she is on the market for something, she first checks Gumtree.
When she saw the house (photo), Keirra claimed that she was & # 39; obsessed & # 39; was – she immediately fell in love with it and knew she would move it, whatever it took, because it was always a & # 39; dream & # 39; been hers

Since then there have been all kinds of activities – from plumbers to electricians, builders, architects and more – they have carried out a kitchen renovation (photo: their plans)
On her Instagram account, The Gumtree Farmhouse, the netballer shows off, among other things, a large French reproduction cabinet in the living room.
She picked this up for just $ 1500 from Gumtree.
Keirra has also purchased a set of stools for her kitchen bench for a very reasonable price, as well as countless other items.
& # 39; The process of buying a removable house is like buying a car, & # 39; said Keirra (left, the house before it moved to the farm). & # 39; It is the responsibility of the buyer and you must be aware of things because you do not have normal rights and protection as with a normal home & # 39; (right, the entrance)
However, they believe it is worth the effort and & # 39; is the perfect match for the farm and the family (left, the master bedroom plan and right, ceiling medallions that can be seen throughout the property)
About her tips for others who might want to buy a detachable home on Gumtree, Keirra said you should be well prepared:
& # 39; The process of buying a detachable home is like buying a car & # 39 ;, she told Daily Mail Australia.
& # 39; It is the responsibility of the buyer and you must be aware of things because you do not have normal rights and protection as you do when you buy an ordinary house.
& # 39; But if you do your due diligence and are aware of all the different hoops you have to jump through, it can work.
& # 39; This cost us half the price we would have had if we had built it, & # 39; she added.
& # 39; My advice to people who want to do this is to do your research, be aware of your rights and trust the professionals who are aware of removable homes. We have clearly done it privately, as we have gone through Gumtree, but it has helped enormously to have service providers who trade in the removable industry. & # 39;
For those who want to embrace the trend of removing homes (photo: interior), Keirra said it is worth doing your research, getting your papers in order and getting help from the professionals
It is only in the last months that the Massoud family home has become livable, after months of paperwork, organization, buying and hard grafting (left: the house on the day of arrival, right, the children of Keirra)
It is only in the last few months that the Massoud family home has become livable, after months of paperwork, organization, purchasing and hard grafting.
The family recently occupied their large deck area, which doubled in size in time for this summer.
The Massouds have also redone the kitchen, living room and bedrooms.
& # 39; I would recommend this to anyone, & # 39; Keirra concluded. & # 39; With time and patience, the rewards are huge. & # 39;
