A Gold Star mother from Afghanistan arrived at the Capitol for Biden’s State of the Union as she seeks closure to more than two years since the deadly withdrawal.

Shamblin is the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, who was one of 13 US soldiers killed in the terrorist attack in Kabul during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.

Earlier Thursday, Shamblin shocked CNN anchor Abby Phillip after she revealed that President Biden never contacted her family.

“He talks to families who have lost loved ones because of their own experiences,” CNN anchor Abby Phillip said, citing how Biden frequently talks about the deaths of his wife, daughter Naomie and son Beau.

-Have you spoken with him? Phillip asked.

‘No. He hasn’t reached out to our family,” Shamblin said of Biden, known as the “comforter in chief.”

‘In fact, we contacted the White House and never received a response. We asked to meet with them to understand what their opinion was in considering this a success, and we have not received a response. It’s been months.’

Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee said the Biden administration calling the withdrawal a “success” is like a “knife to the heart.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Phillip said in disbelief.

Christy Shamblin is a guest of House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul.

He called it “an honor” to have her as his guest and said her presence is a “sobering reminder that this administration must be held accountable.”

Guests have been slowly trickling into the House chamber for Biden’s big speech Thursday night.

Three months after being expelled from Congress, embattled Congressman George Santos returned to attend Biden’s State of the Union address.

Santos quickly took a seat next to Rep. Lauren Boebert.
