Family of NRL great James Maloney appeals for help after his 14-year-old son is reported missing

The family of former NRL star James Maloney has appealed for help after their 14-year-old son was reported missing.

His partner, Jess, had posted a message on Instagram saying they were “desperately searching” for their son Kade.

‘He bought a train ticket in Gosford at 1.51am. “We think he walked from Green Point to Gosford and is probably heading to the Penrith area,” Jess wrote on Instagram.

“We’re desperate to know he’s okay and if he doesn’t want us to know exactly where he is, that’s fine, we just desperately want to know he’s safe.”

NSW Police are also appealing to the public and have urged them to contact Crime Stoppers if they have any information.

NSW Police are also asking the public for help in finding the teenager.

It is understood the boy was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of North Queensland Cowboys shorts.

“When they were unable to locate or contact him, officers attached to the Brisbane Water Police District were notified and began investigating his whereabouts,” NSW Police wrote in a statement.

‘The police and family are concerned for his well-being as his disappearance is not normal.

‘Kade is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of medium build, with short light brown hair and blue eyes.

“He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark blue North Queensland Cowboys football shorts and carrying a black bag.

“Police investigations indicate he may have traveled by train to the Penrith area.”
