The heartbroken brother of a nurse who was seen hanging from a seventh-floor balcony shortly before she fell to her death has claimed the incident was a “terrible accident”.

Deekshya Dahal, 39, died after falling from the balcony of an apartment in Parramatta, western Sydney, about 1.45am on January 2.

She was a registered nurse and planned to have a family with her husband of two years, Labrinda Subedi, 40.

Instead, he is planning a funeral as he struggles to come to terms with the tragedy.

“It was just a terrible, terrible accident,” Sushant, Ms. Dahal’s brother, told Daily Telegraph.

‘Labrinda is a broken man… they were in love, they had not been married long, very happy… they planned to have children.

“Now he has to plan a funeral.”

It comes as photos emerged from the couple’s wedding in Nepal two years ago, in which Dahal described her husband as the “love of my life”.

The wedding photos show Ms Dahal in a traditional dress getting ready and then with her groom with glasses of champagne.

Two hours before Mrs Dahal’s death, her mobile phone was used to call triple-0.

NSW Police revealed that only background noises, including raised voices, could be heard during the call.

A triple 0 operator returned Dahal’s call and spoke to a man inside the apartment, believed to be her husband Labrinda Subedi, 40.

The operator informed the man that police would be attending the River Rd property throughout the night to ensure everyone’s safety.

At 1:45 a.m., a frightened passerby called the police after seeing Dahal hanging from the edge of a balcony.

Officers arrived at the scene within a minute of receiving the call, but discovered that Ms Dahal had already fallen and suffered catastrophic injuries.

The nurse was found in a garden bed and could not be revived.

Police initially detained Mr. Subedi for questioning, but released him hours later without charge.

No charges have been laid in relation to Ms Dahal’s death.

A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday night there were no further updates to their investigation.

Detective Superintendent Barry Vincent described the investigation into Dahal’s death as “complex” and confirmed police had previous interactions with the pair.

Two weeks before Christmas last year, police applied for an arrest warrant for violence against Ms Dahal on behalf of Mr Subedi.

A local court magistrate issued an interim order on December 10 and it was scheduled to be mentioned again in March.

A strike force will investigate the circumstances of Dahal’s death and the two-hour delay between the first triple-0 call and police attending the fall.

Detectives are reportedly investigating whether Ms Dahal went onto the balcony during an argument and accidentally fell.

Police seized CCTV cameras from inside the complex and neighboring premises.
