Private detective Daniel Morgan’s family is delighted with the news that a long-awaited report on his murder will be published next month.

Findings on the unsolved murder will be published by the Daniel Morgan Independent Panel on June 15.

Morgan was killed with an ax in the parking lot of a pub in Sydenham, south-east London, on March 10, 1987.

Despite five police investigations, no one has been tried for the death of the father of two, with Met police admitting corruption hampered the original murder investigation.

The panel said an agreement had been reached with the Interior Ministry that a “small team,” including Home Secretary Priti Patel, should be allowed to read the report before it is published.

But Mr. Morgan’s family has called on Miss Patel to “work with the panel to facilitate the publication of the report without further delay.”

The panel said an agreement had been reached with the Interior Ministry that a 'small team', including Home Secretary Priti Patel (pictured), would be allowed to read the report before it was published.
