The family of a British tourist is seeking help after the holidaymaker mysteriously disappeared in Thailand.

Simon Robinson, 27, from Skegness, Lincolnshire, was due to return to the UK on 26 July but never boarded his flight at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok.

His phone signal was last detected in Bangkok and disappeared five minutes before reaching the airport.

Concerned family and friends said they have contacted the British Embassy in Bangkok to help find Simon’s whereabouts.

But with no progress in the case, they have turned to social media to ask for help.

Simon’s friend Sam Champ wrote online, posting a photo of him on August 2: ‘One of my dear friends has gone missing in Bangkok, hasn’t been heard from since July 26th.

‘He was supposed to get on a plane that day and he didn’t show up. Yesterday was his 27th birthday and everyone is very worried.

“He has been reported missing. I have attached a photo of him. His name is Simon Robinson and he is from Lincolnshire. If anyone could share this post with someone in Bangkok or Thailand I would be very grateful.”

Simon’s sister Sarah said she had received “hundreds of messages” after online petitions were launched to find him.

She thanked people for sharing photos of her brother and urged those in Bangkok who had seen the posts to keep an eye out for him.

Writing on Facebook, he added that Interpol was investigating the case and that he had not received any updates so far.

The Foreign Office has been contacted for comment.

This comes after an Australian tourist also went missing in Thailand in July.

Nursing student Kieran James Cramer, 28, arrived in the Southeast Asian country on July 1 but went missing and his family was unable to contact him for about 15 days.

Kieran’s father, Darren Cramer, traveled from Australia to Thailand to search for his son.

Mr Cramer feared Kieran might be in danger and made reports to the local police in Chalong, the Australian embassy and Interpol.

Her son was finally found in Bangkok on July 24, although the circumstances of his disappearance remained unclear.
