Families of US service members who died in Afghanistan told DailyMail.com they were horrified by President Biden’s shocking lie during the first presidential debate: that no soldiers have died under his watch.
In a stunning moment during Joe Biden’s disastrous debate that has sent Democrats into a panic, Biden forgot the deaths of 13 American soldiers in the suicide bombing in Afghanistan.
The president claimed that no troops were killed during his tenure, sparking understandable anger among Gold Star families who suffered a horrific loss in August 2021.
They told DailyMail.com that Biden’s comments in the debate were “scandalous” and a slap in the face.
Darin Hoover, Taylor Hoover’s father, a 31-year-old Marine sergeant from Utah, told DailyMail.com that he “screamed” at what he was hearing during the “stumbling, clumsy old Joe” debate.
“When Biden said no one in the military was killed on his watch, I screamed at what I was hearing.”
During an exchange between the two men, Biden mentioned Trump’s frequent claims that his presidency was good for the U.S. military.
“The truth is that I am the only president in this century who has not, in this decade, had troops dying anywhere in the world, like he did,” Biden falsely claimed.
Biden was completely wrong in claiming that no US soldiers died during his presidency, as 13 were killed during an ISIS-K attack amid the evacuation from Afghanistan.
“I knew he heard what he heard, but I couldn’t believe he had the audacity to say it. Had he forgotten our 13 children?” Hoover continued.
“Don’t you remember standing on the tarmac during the dignified transfer? Don’t you remember looking at your watch over and over again? We’ve criticized you several times for that!!”

Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, told DailyMail.com she was “shocked to see our commander in chief disrespect all of our fallen AGAIN by turning his back on them.”
Biden has previously been criticized for appearing to look at his watch just seconds after a salute in honor of the return of the 13 service members killed in Kabul.
But during the ceremony, Biden raised his left arm and looked at his watch.
“Biden can’t get enough of Afghanistan behind him, and yet the issue keeps turning against him. To say I was outraged would be an understatement,” Hoover added.
“Our 13 children and their families and friends deserve so much more than what the old fool has given them, which is absolutely nothing.”
ISIS-K carried out a double bombing at Kabul airport as Westerners and thousands of Afghan civilians fled the Taliban takeover.

“His leadership has been reckless and weak and will continue to result in dead Americans. The fact that the entire ADMINISTRATION turns its back on him while he receives promotions and rewards for his silence is equally shocking.”
Biden has “once again denied the service and sacrifice” of the troops killed at Abbey Gate, said Steven Nikoui, father of Lance Corporal Kareem M. Nikoui.
“Joe Biden has not once said my son’s name or contacted me, and now the rest of the world can finally see what we have been facing for the last three years.”
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said on the House floor Friday that Biden’s claim was evidence of “cowardice.”
And House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, similarly criticized the president for omitting the names of slain service members.
The 13 soldiers included 11 Marines and a Navy medic who died along with 90 Afghans in the bombing on August 26, 2021.

The first attacker at Abbey Gate Airport was wearing a vest and was being searched by troops when he detonated. The second was a car bomb attack at the Baron Hotel.
Biden himself addressed the nation after the attack and promised to pursue those responsible.
“Those American servicemen who gave their lives (it’s an overused word, but totally appropriate), they were heroes,” he said at the time.
‘Heroes who have been involved in a dangerous and selfless mission to save the lives of others.

‘They were part of an airlift, an evacuation effort unlike anything seen before in history… They were part of the bravest, most capable, most selfless army on the face of the Earth.
‘And they were part, quite simply, of what I call the ‘backbone of America.’ They are the backbone of America, the best that the country has to offer.’
‘To those who carried out this attack, as well as all those who wish to harm the United States, know this: we will not forgive. We will not forget.
‘We will hunt you down and make you pay. I will defend our interests and our people with all the measures at my disposal.’
