Falls Festival cancelled: Event organizers shock revelers as they announce this year’s New Year’s Eve event has been canned so staff can ‘rest, recuperate and recalibrate’
Falls Festival has announced that this year’s highly anticipated New Year’s Eve event has been cancelled.
In what is no doubt a shock to partiers and revelers, the announcement was made on Instagram on Wednesday.
“After an impressive 28 years ringing in the New Year with some of the world’s biggest acts, the Falls team are turning on their OOOs today and taking this New Year’s season off to rest, recover and recalibrate,” said the declaration.
“We are sending immense love and appreciation to all of our customers for their continued support and for the great vibes they purchased for the 2022/2023 events.”
It concluded, “You truly are the heart and soul of Falls Festival and we look forward to updating you on our plans when the time is right.” Cyan coming soon! Love falls.’

Fans expressed their dismay at the news in the comments, with one writing: ‘I fell on my knees in the fresh produce section of Woolworths when I read this.’
“I doubt you’re just ‘on break’ when you’ve just been on a two year break due to Covid. I think you are slowing down announcing the end of Falls forever,” another added.
