A woman has been charged after police uncovered multiple alleged Facebook Marketplace scams that defrauded victims across the country.

Police allege a 37-year-old woman from Donvale in Melbourne put high-end fashion items up for sale online during April and May.

Once customers paid for the items, the Melbourne woman allegedly pocketed the money and never sent the products to the buyers.

There were at least 20 victims caught up in the alleged scam who are believed to be from all over Australia.
